Northglenn is a Speed Trap

Investigating city traffic revenue from the bottom up.

Is Northglenn a speed trap?

Posted by DLD on 2010/04/22

This blog is going to take a look at the political economy of speeding tickets and red light cameras in Northglenn, Colorado, a small municipal city immediately north of Denver, Colorado.

More specifically, we will ask the fundamental question: Is it about public safety? Or is it about the revenue?

Now, about the question explicit in the title of this post:  “Is Northglenn a speed trap?”  The short answer is “I don’t know.”  Yet.

But let us investigate and find out.

We invite input from all parties. Please send your stories, anecdotes or questions to dldelong02@gmail.com. Or, consider leaving a comment on any recent post in the blog. If you are particularly interested in this topic, let me know; I would happily consider adding co-bloggers to northglennspeedtrap blog.
